St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobgo, January 28, 2009 (SRC) - On Wednesday, January 28, at 01:30 p.m. an earthquake was recorded which was reported felt in Diego Martin, Woodbrook, Morvant, St. Augustine, Curepe, Port of Spain, Carenage and St. James. The event was located at 11.29°N 61.48°W, which puts the event about 60 km north of Port of Spain. No damage was reported nor is it expected from an event of this size and location.
The picture to the right shows the location of the earthquake. The approximate focal depth was 20 km and the magnitude was 3.6 on the Richter Scale.
